Efflorescence is the same thing as Mineral deposits, when water evaporates leaving behind any salts or minerals contained in the water. See the link to subflorescence Backup link to stained granite counter tops SUB-FLORESCENCE This is a potentially harmful internal accumulation of soluble salts deposited under or just beneath the stone surface as moisture in the stone evaporates. The build-up of salts and their subsequent crystallization can create substantial pressures with the stone, eventually causing pieces to break off along the planes of deposition. Efflorescence at the surface is an important early indication that sub-florescence is a possible hazard. Mineral deposits on granite around faucet |
